What is Somatic Experiencing?

1

By directing our consciousness to the body, we access our own innate resources. This allows high activation to be released. Thus, not only a considerable reduction of the activation is achieved, but even the complete disappearance of the traumatic symptoms. The person recovers vitality, presence, and ability to be in the here and now.

2

It favors a greater connection with our own body, which enables us to act with a greater coherence from the “body-mind-spirit” connection. This results in greater respect for oneself in various aspects such as the following: “what are my needs?”, “how do I set healthy limits?”, “how do I develop a greater restraint capacity?”.

3

It helps to discover the functioning of the Nervous System and teaches to “self-regulate”: e.g., how to calm down if you are nervous, how to understand the language of the body and pay attention to it, or how to discover patterns of behavior and thought that have been “locked”.
